Our friends at Big River Running just recently announced a brand new Trail Series featuring two of their Castlewood Park races, The Skippo and Castlewood Cup, plus a brand new trail race coming in September, the Flint Ridge Trail. Details of the trail series and which races qualify can be found here. All 3 races are Big River Signature Events and tri club members get a 40% discount on each race. Castlewood Cup registration opens on November 9th, so check back for that discount code in a few months. If you intend to sign up for the Trail Series, you will need to register for each race individually. The discount will apply for only one race at a time.
The Flint Ridge Trail race is open now for registration and features a 10 mile and a 4 mile course at Indian Camp Creek Park in Foristell. The Skippo is back for another year in its two-day format and available three race distances, 10K, 20K, or 30K. Registration for the Skippo will open to the public on Monday, August 3rd, at noon. (Note: The club discount will not be valid during priority early registration before it opens to the public) Please do not share these codes with friends or family who are not club members, they were created for exclusive use by tri club members.
And if you need a little bit of trail running inspiration, Big River is also hosting a screening of a documentary about the legendary ultrarunner known as Caballo Blanco on August 26th. That name should be familiar if you’ve read Christopher McDougall’s bestseller, “Born to Run”.
