Start from the MCT Schoolhouse trailhead parking lot near the Culvers at 100 United Dr Collinsville IL. This trailhead has a restroom and water fountain. It’s north on Rt 157 from I-55 in Illinois.
Join us for a ride in what might be a new place for you — on the Madison County Trail system in Illinois. I’m jealous that riders over there have these trails! They are miles and miles of bike “highways” that run through and between towns just across the river from us. They are shared paths, so we’ll also see walkers, runners, dogs, and often times wildlife. As you get to know the trail system, you’ll also learn about road rides that branch out from the MCTs, giving you access to miles of smiles for riding 🙂
The goal of this ride is to spend 12-17 some odd miles focused on working with newer cyclists in this ‘protected’ path. There’s only a few traffic crossings to navigate, we can ride side by side much of the time to talk, and it’s a pretty place to ride too.
EVERYONE is welcome to join this ride. If you want to ride longer or faster, go right ahead! We’re happy to see you and share news 🙂
