I started triathlon at the age of 50 and my first triathlon was the Sullivan Sprint in Sullivan, IL. I actually got my feet wet as the swimmer at Lake St. Louis in a relay for my very first race. My favorite race was the Hyvee Olympic triathlon which is now called the Des Moines Triathlon and is not as prestigious. I spend most of my time training in the New Town and St. Paul areas of St. Charles and at Creve Coeur Park. I love the sport of triathlon because you really meet the nicest people and make the best friends. It is the most supportive sport. I truly love all the techno gear for triathlon even though I fail at the operations part more times than not.
